I have been on a bit of a “graphic novels/manga” reading spree. It all started from a visit to a bookstore, while I was in Australia. When I went to the graphic novels/manga section I was thinking that I want to give reading manga a try, ideally one that I hadn’t started as an anime yet. I ended up picking “Solo leveling” since my cousin had recommended its anime.
The lady there recommended “Maus” book and I’m so grateful she did. Reading through that was some experience. Post that I ended up reading all volumes of “Solo leveling”, that one became better as the story unfolded further.
Post that I have read through a few more -
- “Vaadivaasal: The Arena” - Really nice illustrations, good to read one from India. I appreciate such works which make it available to a wider audience. Without such translations I would have never gotten to read “Carvalho”, a book I really enjoyed reading.
- “I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf” - Fun one to read through
- “Ping Pong” (2 volumes) - This morning I finished reading it, this one had such different and supposedly raw style of illustrations, I found it pretty awesome. I plan to watch the animated adaptation of this.
Next up I have a bunch more that I plan to read (in no particular order) -
- Sandman
- Watchmen
- Monster
- Moonward
- Parable of the Sower
- Footnotes in Gaza
- Berserk
- Tekkonkinkreet
…
Looking forward to some great experiences. If you have any suggestions please send them my way.
