Anyone who has watched cricket over the past few years would know who he is. Anyway, if you don’t know, he is currently the best bowler playing the sport. He is a fast bowler, and he is known for his unique action. He is also known for his accuracy and his ability to bowl yorkers at will. Along with many more skills he possesses.
With that super quick introduction, let me tell you why I am writing about him today. Recently the first test match between India and Australia was played in Perth. India won the match, emphatically with a margin of 295 runs. This is important info because, at the end of the first innings of the match, India was bundled out for 150 runs. With Australia at the top, out walk the Indian bowlers led by their captain Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah bowled amazingly well, getting 4 wickets on Day 1 with Australia ending the day at 67/7. No longer was Australia at the top, India was charging back into the match. He is what people call in sports a once-in-a-generation kind of player. Being able to perform when the pressure is on and the team needs you to deliver. Throw the ball to Bumrah, and he will deliver. He has done that so many times now.
Watching him bowl is an absolute treat. Especially test match bowling for me is extra special. The way he sets up the batsman, to get him out.
He finished the first innings with a fifer and followed that up with another 3 wickets in the second innings. Deservedly he was awarded the man of the match.
Finally, as Siraj says, “I believe only Jassi bhai, because he is a game changer”.
